The Forest Dress (self-made) - O Vestido Floresta (feito por mim)

I've made this dress back in April but today it’s actually the first time I’m wearing it. It makes the perfect vacation dress because it can as easily be dressed down just by changing the accessories; I can wear it over a bikini with flat sandals and a straw bag for a beach ready look or with a pair of heels and a blazer for a dinner out or party. I've drafted the dress pattern myself by copying it directly from a RTW knit dress. If I am to make it again, I will lower the armholes a little bit; the original pattern would have been made considering a knit with some vertical stretch, perhaps, so the armholes are slightly too high; I could only notice this after wearing the finished dress, since on my RTW dress armholes are OK. The fabric that I used is some kind of neoprene knit that doesn't need any seam finishing so it was quite easy and quick to make. If you’re interested, the sewing review has been published on my sewing blog (click here). You all have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting and leaving such nice comments!

Looking at all these beautiful pieces you made yourself you make me wish I could do the same although I wouldn't know where to find the time, lol. The print is awesome and I like the cut so much. btw the necklace is divine. Will try to check out your sewing blog asap. Aww look at little cutie pie with his Micky toy, cute.
Sorry haven't had time to get back to you yesterday, had a busy day then heading home just to get changed, we were going to a theme party, took some pics for the blog along the way, lol, came home late, got not enough sleep, well you know the drill, lol. And after watching the weather forecast right now I am not a happy bunny, after telling us the heatwave is over it looks like it's coming back, dang! Again temperatures into the nineteen. Gosh! Hahaha bearing it with style you should have seen the pics I did not publish, my angry faces because Simon was not satisfied and wanted to take more pics. Anyway thx for your sweet words hun. About the storage problem....I am not sure I understood the record thingy correct. Does it mean you list everything down you bought? If so how does it helps with the storage problem? Or am I just too blonde to get the point? Or is it more the bookkeeping sort of thing? Still have tons to tell you about storage but as usual my time is running out, but I wanted to get at least this done, so it was the first thing I did.

    1. Thank you darling! This dress was an easy&quick project, these days I don't get much spare time to spend sewing,... But it turned out ok and the fabric print really makes the dress IMO. Good lord, where do you live in the US? All that heat must be really unbearable. The temperatures here are around the seventies, quite bearable, and NO HUMIDITY (which is good for my hair, lol!). My fault I didn't explain everything about the excel file: I use a color code to distinguish the items that are stored away; this may sound crazy, but it really helps managing all my clothes and accessories. I really need an inventory or else I don't remember about some stuff I own. It also helps with knowing how much money I'm spending per month so I don't overrun my budget...
Well honey, thanks for dropping by! Today I was able to catch up on replying to my commenters so not going out shopping ended up being quite productive!!
      Lots of kisses

    2. Just a quicky Tany. Today it's pretty windy and there's a new forecast, last hot day then we should be back to normal, yeah we'll see. Northwest. So it's kinda bookkeeping too, may be a good idea for me too, although I try to keep up with my latest, well you know not to spend more than I can afford. Still have to tell ya about storage lol, OK gotta dash

  4. I am a delighted by such big, pictures prints on fabrics. Great selection of a simple pattern, which allows to admire the beutiful trees. The dress looks really like a designer piece. I haven't been on a blogger and also sewing for a while, looking at what you sew and at your style is a real motivation to come back to sewing.
