Long time no blogging… Life is just getting in the way, I can’t help it. Today I was finally able to take a few outfit pictures, and this is what I wore to the office. The booties are new and were bought on sale (I’ve been coveting them for quite some time but I waited and waited and this time it was worth it, they are mine and at a fraction of their retail price). The coat and the sweater where made by myself (details here and here); unfortunately there hasn’t been much activity in the sewing studio lately… I didn't finish my Burberry inspired coat the past weekend as I had planned, and I’m relying on some free time next weekend to be able to finish it. It's taking forever... I am fed up with winter clothes by now and ready for spring, just bring it on!

Há algum tempo que não publico nada… É a vida que às vezes me troca as voltas e fico sem tempo para nada, não consigo evitá-lo. Hoje finalmente consegui um tempinho para tirara umas fotos e este é o conjunto que levei para o escritório. Os botins foram comprados em saldos (já andava a namorá-los há algum tempo, mas esperei e esperei, e no final valeu bem a pena, pois comprei-os a uma fracção do preço inicial). O casaco e o top foram feitos por mim (detalhes aqui e aqui); infelizmente não tenho tido muito tempo para costurar e não consegui terminar o casaco inspirado em Burberry no fim-de-semana passado, como tinha planeado. Estou a contar ter algum tempo no próximo fim-de-semana para isso. Tenho que confessar que já estou um pouco saturada de roupa de Inverno e pronta para a Primavera, venha ela!

O regresso dos sapatos bicudos – Pointed-toe stilettos are back

Foram vistos em vários desfiles (estou a lembrar-me do de Isabel Marant, Prada, Luis Vuitton e Marni, só para citar alguns exemplos) e parece que regressaram em força!
O casaco e as calças deste conjunto foram feitos por mim (ver detalhes das calças aqui, e detalhes de um casaco feito com o mesmo molde aqui), mas acho que nunca cheguei a mostrar este casaco no meu blogue de costura (foi feito no ano passado), apenas mostrei o que fiz antes deste com o mesmo molde.

Pointed-toe shoes and stilettos were spotted on several runaway shows this season (I recall Isabel Marant’s, Prada’s, Luis Vuitton’s and Marni’s, just to state a few) and it looks that they are in for a great come back!
The coat and the pleather pants were made by me (pants details here and a similar coat using the same pattern was reviewed here), but I think I failed to review this particular coat in my sewing blog (last year I made two coats using this same pattern I but I only reviewed the first one).

O top não tem nada que saber (não usei qualquer molde), 60cm de jersey aos folhinhos cortado ao meio para obter frente e costas (rectângulos) e 50cm de Jersey para as mangas; o Jersey aos folhinhos não necessita de qualquer remate ou bainha. Tempo total de confecção: meia hora. A saia deu um pouco mais de trabalho, mas como não é forrada também foi relativamente rápida de fazer. O casaco de pelo não fui eu que fiz, mas este inverno vou fazer um, esperem para ver! Os sapatos também são novos, aqui usados com caneleiras de lã até ao joelho, porque gosto sempre de acrescentar um detalhe inesperado…

The top is a no brainer (no pattern used): 25 inches of this lovely frilled jersey made the front and back (two rectangles) and a little less of plain jersey made the sleeves (cut two rectangles on the fold, slightly tapering to the wrist). The frilled jersey doesn’t need any type of finishing or hemming. Total sewing time: about half an hour. The skirt took a little longer to complete but since it’s not lined it came together pretty quickly too. The fake fur jacket wasn’t made by me, but I’m planning on making one soon, just watch me! The shoes are new and I wore them with leg warmers, because I always like to throw in something unexpected…

Atenção aos sapatos que levantam um pouco na frente (caso destas socas); para quem está habituada a saltos altos, são confortáveis se caminharem no plano; nas descidas são horríveis, dão a sensação que vamos projectar-nos de cabeça para a frente! É um formato muito “na moda” mas pouco prático para quem tiver de andar em planos inclinados.
As socas são uma tendência forte esta estação (lembro-me do desfile Primavera Verão da Chanel, por exemplo) embora muita gente não goste do estilo. Eu gostei, mas escolhi uma versão que afivela atrás, mais fácil de usar na minha opinião porque não está sempre a sair do pé.

Gostam de alguns destes sapatos? Qual é o vosso par favorito?

Beware of the raised tip shoes (that’s the case of my new clogs); they are very fashionable (you see a lot of shoe models with this front raised design) but not the best shoes to walk in; I’m very accustomed to high heels, so the height is not a problem for me; because of the rising tip of these shoes, you’ll get the feeling of falling ahead on each step you take going down a slope.
Clogs are a strong trend this year (who doesn’t remember the Chanel SS2010 RTW collection) though I know that many of you are apprehensive towards this trend. I decided to give it a try but opted for the back strap version clogs, which in my opinion are more comfortable because they won’t be falling off my feet constantly.
