Casual com brilho à mistura - Casual with added sparkle

Usei esta roupa para jantar fora num aniversário com família (neste caso, se me vestisse demasiado chique acreditem que me ia sentir deslocada); embora se diga que as lantejoulas são para os eventos formais à noite, actualmente muita gente quebra esta directiva (e muitas outras, se é que lhes podemos chamar de directivas). Na minha opinião as lantejoulas funcionam durante o dia se inseridas num coordenado realmente casual (por exemplo jeans com uma T-shirt branca, saltos altos e um bolero de lantejoulas). Nesta situação em particular resolvi não usar o bolero durante o dia no escritório e vesti-lo apenas à noite para jantar fora. Qual é a vossa opinião acerca de usar lantejoulas durante o dia?

I wore this outfit for a family birthday dinner out (in this case if I had been too dressed up , I’d have felt out of place, believe me)… Many would state that sequins are only to be worn for night events, but this “fashion rule” (as many other fashion rules, if one can call them that way) is starting to be neglected and ignored by many. In my opinion a sequined piece could work by day toning up a very casual outfit like jeans and a white t-shirt, for example (ok, I’d through in a good pair of heels too). For this day I decided against wearing the bolero to the office by day, putting it on only by dinner time. What do you feel about sequins in daytime outfits?

Este post é o primeiro de uma série semanal onde tentarei explorar várias formas de usar este vestido com outras peças existentes no meu guarda-roupa. Aqui têm o vestido praticamente a “solo” (acrescentei a écharpe de organza lilás para lhe dar um pouco mais de graça e interesse visual; comprei esta linda écharpe na loja Etsy da minha amiga Rosa Fortes, ela faz acessórios lindíssimos!). Para quem não sabe, o vestido foi feito por mim e se quiserem podem ver alguns detalhes da confecção aqui.

This is the first of a series of weekly posts featuring this dress styled in several possible ways together with existing pieces of my wardrobe. Here’s the dress worn “solo” for a summer outfit. The organza bubble scarf complements this simple look adding visual interest. I bought this beautiful scarf from my friend Rosa Fortes Etsy store, she makes amazing accessories! Top giro + jeans imitação de pele - Cute top + leather-like jeans

Top giro com jeans imitação de cabedal, ou apenas jeans, é uma combinação fácil que raramente falha na minha opinião (desculpem o cabelo, ainda estava húmido do banho). Aqui o top de jersey com estampado abstracto em tons de branco, azul, roxo e verde-alface coordena na perfeição com as pulseiras largas nos mesmos tons. Também decidi experimentar estas calças com as minhas sandálias gladiador de salto alto .

You can’t get it wrong combining a cute top with leather-like jeans or just jeans, that’s a no-brainer outfit that always works fine for me (excuse my hair, it was still wet/damp at the time). The bangles are a perfect match for the colors of the top (white, blue, purple and green), adding a plus to the outfit. I also decided to try on my gladiator heel sandals to see how they look with these pants.

Mais um dia escaldante de Agosto - Just another hot August day

Este coordenado foi totalmente confeccionado por mim; o top em seda de padrão abstracto (ver aqui os detalhes da confecção) é uma opção óptima para estes dias quentes. As calças de tafetá de seda (detalhes aqui) são extremamente confortáveis e frescas. Para rematar um par de pulseiras, as sandálias rasas e uns brincos de madrepérola enormes.

This entire outfit was made by me; the one-shoulder abstract print silk top (see the sewing details here) is a great option for standing the August heat and the wide taffeta pants (sewing details here) are extremely comfortable and fresh. As final details I opted for the bangles, flat sandals and statement mother-of-pearl earrings.

Vestido em croché – Crochet dress

O vestido foi feito por mim (detalhes no meu outro blog) e aqui podem vê-lo estilizado com azul-turquesa, para abrir um pouco a neutralidade do castanho mel. A cor do vestido foge um pouco às cores usuais cru ou preto, por isso acho que torna o vestido mais original e único. O colar, os brincos e o anel são um conjunto e normalmente não costumo usar conjuntos de bijutaria (tipo brincos, colar e anel todos iguais) mas achei que aqui ficava bem. Acrescentei uma foto das sandálias, porque além da cor têm uma textura muito gira. Espero que gostem!

I made this dress (the details are on my other blog) and here you can see it styled with some turquoise blue accessories that break the neutrality of the tan color of the dress. I chose the tan color for the dress because I thought it would be more original and unique. The necklace, earrings and ring are a set and I usually I don’t wear sets of jewelry all together but in this case I thought it would look nice. I also added a detail shot of the sandals, so you could see their nice texture. Hope you like it!
